I have the original Pet Sounds Sessions box. I see there is a 2cd 50th set with the mono and stereo on disc one and on disc two the instrumental album and a smattering of live tracks. Would this 2cd set complement the original box and leave the 50th box redundant?

Any information you can glean about Wilson and Pet Sounds is a good thing, but I feel like an album with such obsessive attention to detail deserves a book that shares the same quality. That said, that doesn't really seem to be what the author was going for. Disc One starts off with the stereo mix of 'Pet Sounds' - I will say that I prefer the mono version way more, but the stereo version really shows how many elements Brian crammed in to make the perfect sound.
